Detailed Itinerary
Day 1 – Uros Floating Islands & Amantaní
07:30 h – Hotel pick-up and transfer to the main port of Puno. We board our tourist boat and head to the famous Uros Floating Islands (25-minute journey). Here, you’ll learn how these totora reed islands are built and maintained, and witness how this lake-dwelling culture has survived for centuries.
After a 1.5-hour visit, we sail approximately 3 hours to Amantaní Island, where you will be welcomed by the community leader and assigned to a host family. In the afternoon, you’ll hike to the pre-Inca Pachatata or Pachamama temples (depending on group and guide). From the top, enjoy one of the most beautiful sunsets over Lake Titicaca.
In the evening, enjoy dinner and rest at the family home. There may also be a traditional cultural gathering, depending on the day and local festivities.
Day 2 – Taquile Island & Return to Puno
After breakfast with your host family, we sail for about 1 hour to the Island of Taquile. We hike for approximately 1.5 hours to the main plaza, where you’ll observe traditional weaving techniques and visit artisan shops. Enjoy a typical lunch prepared by a local family.
After lunch, we descend to the port and return by boat to Puno, arriving around 17:00 h. You will be transferred to your hotel.
