Detailed Itinerary
Day 1 – Colonial Trujillo and Museums
Reception at Trujillo’s bus terminal or airport and transfer to hotel.
We begin with a guided tour through the Historic Center: Plaza de Armas, the Liberty Monument, the Cathedral, and colonial houses like Casa Urquiaga, Casa de la Emancipación, and Iglesia La Merced.
You may then choose one of the following museums:
- UNT Archaeology Museum: A walkthrough of the cultural timeline of northern Peru.
- Toy Museum: A nostalgic journey through toys from pre-Columbian times to 1960.
- Casinelli Museum: Private collection of rare pieces from Moche, Chavín, and Nazca cultures.
Free evening and overnight in Trujillo.
Day 2 – Moche and Chimú Route
After breakfast, we travel to Moche countryside to visit the Huacas de Moche Museum and the Huaca de la Luna — a major Moche religious site with colorful murals. We’ll also view the massive Huaca del Sol from a distance.
After a break for lunch, we continue to:
- Huaca Arco Iris (Dragon Temple)
- Chan Chan Site Museum
- Chan Chan Citadel, including the Nikán Palace
We end the day in Huanchaco, a coastal town famous for its reed boats, local crafts, and relaxing seaside atmosphere. Return to Trujillo and transfer to terminal or airport.
