Detailed Itinerary
Day 1 – Cusco → Aguas Calientes
07:00 a.m. – We pick you up from your hotel and head to Ollantaytambo, where we board the train to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Town).
09:00 a.m. – Aboard the Expedition train (or similar service), you’ll enjoy a 1-hour and 45-minute journey through the Sacred Valley, with scenic views of rivers, mountains, and lush vegetation.
11:00 a.m. – Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, a hotel representative will meet you and assist you with check-in. You’ll have the afternoon free to explore the town, relax in the hot springs, or visit the Manuel Chávez Ballón Site Museum (optional).
Day 2 – Aguas Calientes → Machu Picchu → Cusco
06:00 a.m. – Breakfast at the hotel, followed by our journey to Machu Picchu.
06:30 a.m. – We board the tourist bus that takes us to the entrance of the sanctuary (30-minute ride).
07:30 a.m. – Our expert guide leads a 2-hour tour through the most important areas of the citadel: the Temple of the Sun, Intihuatana, Temple of the Three Windows, Sacred Plaza, and more.
09:30 a.m. – Those with Wayna Picchu permits may begin the ascent. Others can use this free time to explore additional areas of the citadel independently.
13:00 p.m. – Return to Aguas Calientes by bus. Free time for lunch (not included) and shopping at the artisan market.
16:00 – 18:00 p.m. – Train back to Ollantaytambo. Schedule depends on availability at booking.
20:00 – 21:00 p.m. – Arrival in Cusco. Our transport will be waiting in Ollantaytambo to take you back to your hotel in the city. End of the tour.
